"Essential in an era when subversion seems to be a forgotten thrill."--Melody Maker on Clinic
Clinic, the mysterioso avant-rock foursome from Liverpool, broke big in England and Europe when Radiohead took them on tour, touting them as their favorite fresh sound.
Appearing uniformly in hospital scrubs and surgical face masks, Clinic stitch together jagged, slightly sinister music that proclaims its startling originality while revealing the inspiration of kosmic krautrockers like Can, avant-punk pioneers such as Suicide, the primal grungy distortion of 60s garage rock, and even hints of Jamaican dub reggae.
Clinic are now gaining a keen following in the States and have achieved a band-of-the-moment status that should make their Columbus debut one of our most eagerly anticipated fall shows. The Apples in Stereo supply a complementary set of bright, sunnily smart pop tones and pop tunes. Up-and-coming Portland, Oregon, quintet The Standard open with the punky prog-rock that's earned them Northwest-area acclaim.
