“A staggeringly talented musician, and taking a break from Sleater-Kinney has seemingly inspired her to audaciously push the boundaries of her sound.”—Under the Radar Former Sleater-Kinney frontwoman Corin Tucker returns to her riot grrrl roots with band members Seth Lorinczi (Golden Bears), Sara Lund (Unwound), and Mike Clark (Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks) for the fast-approaching September 18 release Kill My Blues. Tucker and crew kick up the volume and the feminist punk attitude to fire up her fans with this follow-up to 1,000 Years, the group’s critically acclaimed 2010 release. As Tucker says, “I think you can hear that sense of joy and abandon in the songs.” Kill My Blues’ advance track “Groundhog Day” already confirms this claim with its spirited, insistent wake-up call. Pay heed. The duo R. Ring featuring Kelley Deal (The Breeders) and Mike Montgomery (Ampline) open the show with a set of originals they describe as "sparse, chaotic, abrasive, and lulling, often within the same song." Deal lives in Dayton, Ohio. Montgomery lives in Dayton, Kentucky.
