"Arguably the best bassist in jazz."—Boston Globe

Join us in Mershon Auditorium Lobby from 6 PM to 7:45 PM for a festive reception before the performance. Contemporary jazz giant and recent Grammy winner Dave Holland returns with his expanded eight-piece lineup for a concert that features his stellar compositions. Balancing dynamically written passages with well-turned melodies and flights of improvisation, Holland and his crew delight with hard-hitting neo-bop precision and more contemplative moments. The concert opens with a special set of duets featuring Holland and Indian percussion master Trilok Gurtu. The motto "we make bridges, not barriers" defines Gurtu's adventurous, pan-global approach.
