Rachel's, a Louisville-based indie avant-chamber music ensemble, return to the Wexner Center with songs from all six of their records, plus some new material.

Tickets are on sale now. It's been three years since we last heard from Rachel's, our favorite Louisville-based indie avant-chamber music ensemble. Since then, Rachel's have released Sytems/Layers, a captivating suite of music written for a stage production collaboration with another of our favorites, The SITI Company. A rich meditation on the intersections of human activity in urban environments, Systems/Layers reveals Rachel's collective skills in crafting enveloping panoramic soundscapes of singular beauty that hum with multilayered musical ideas.

The band will be Christian Frederickson (viola and laptop sounds), Edward Grimes (drums and keyboards), Rachel Grimes (piano), Greg King (films, percussion, and keyboards), Eve Miller (cello), Jason Noble (guitar, bass, and sampler).

Opening the show is singer-songwriter Joe Manning, also from Louisville. His confessional originals accompanied on solo guitar bring an authentically dark and atmospheric edge to his old-time "death and redemption" country sound.
