Don’t miss this meeting of bodies and space adapted for the midcentury architecture of Mershon Auditorium by Marrakech-born choreographer and dancer Radouan Mriziga.
A finely crafted choreographic progression, 7 prompts the audience to continually adapt its perceptions as moving bodies confront the symbolic power of designed space. Mriziga uses his performers as measuring instruments, creating shapes that recall the complex geometric motifs of Islamic art and architecture.
Mriziga currently lives and works in Brussels, where he is an artist in residence at the city’s Kaaitheater and Moussem Nomadic Arts Centre. After studying dance in Morocco, Tunisia, and France, he graduated from the Brussels-based Performing Arts Research and Training Studios, founded and directed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker of Rosas.
