"Nobody makes a stronger case, moment by moment, for the power of art to change lives."—Los Angeles Times Experience the dynamic and sophisticated dance pyrotechnics of tap dance superstar Savion Glover with his latest ensemble and a stellar live jazz funk band. $5 tickets for teens (ages 13-18) are available through High 5 Tickets to the Arts. Click here for details. Tap dance superstar Savion Glover's Improvography II will astonish you with its dynamic and sophisticated tap pyrotechnics. The show is in many ways an homage to Glover's mentor Gregory Hines, the late tap giant who introduced Glover to "improvography," meaning the fusion of improvisation with set sections of choreography. The show is composed in two electrifying parts. The first half features Glover soloing and improvising with the jazz quintet. He'll demonstrate his maturing style as a dancer and choreographer, as well as his superb musicality and ever-surprising footwork. In the second half of the show, Glover is joined by his new dancers in fresh new pieces. The scintillating ensemble dancing will knock you out. Glover is no stranger to the Wexner Center. He first appeared here in 1994 as a special guest with Lynn Dally's Jazz Tap Ensemble. Then, following his Broadway success in Bring In da Noise, Bring In da Funk, Wexner Center audiences were the first to see his first stage production with his own company, presented at the conclusion of a month-long creative residency in 1997. During the residency, Glover also interacted with the Columbus and Ohio State communities, performing at a Wexner Center Family Day and working with students and community groups. support credits Dance season presented by Huntington.
