The Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University will offer free admission to its galleries every Sunday thanks to a generous contribution from the AEP Foundation. Already a consistent supporter of the Wex, the Foundation has made this special gift to bolster the center’s efforts to expand arts access.
The public can take advantage of this benefit beginning Sunday, January 31, to see the center’s winter 2021 exhibition, Climate Changing: On Artists, Institutions, and the Social Environment. Comprising work by over 20 artists contending with social issues and structural injustices, the show has been organized by Wexner Center Assistant Curator Lucy Zimmerman.
“Increasing access has been a priority since I took the reins of the center,” says Wexner Center Executive Director Johanna Burton. “We’re excited to work with the AEP Foundation toward its goal to enrich life through art, and we’re honored to be chosen as a partner in this effort. The Foundation’s gift removes a financial barrier to experiencing exhibitions in our galleries and encourages visitors to return often.”
“The AEP Foundation is pleased to support free Sunday admission to the Wexner Center,” said Janelle Coleman, AEP vice president of Corporate Philanthropy & Community Engagement and president of the AEP Foundation. “Creating opportunity for everyone to enjoy the benefits of our community’s cultural offerings helps make brighter futures for us all.”
Climate Changing: On Artists, Institutions, and the Social Environment will debut on Saturday, January 30 at the Wexner Center for the Arts, 1871 N. High St. (at 15th Avenue) on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus.
Gallery hours are 11 AM–5 PM Tuesday–Wednesday and Friday, 11 AM–7 PM Thursday, and 11AM–4 PM Saturday and Sunday. Galleries are closed Mondays.
Admission is free for all every Sunday beginning January 31, as well as every Thursday after 4 PM. Admission is also free anytime for Wexner Center members, college students, and visitors 18 and under.
