A Campus Hop, featuring an outdoor B-movie at the Wexner Center, street musicians, sidewalk sales, restaurant discounts and more, will be held on Thursday, July 13, from 5 to 10 p.m. The public is invited to come to the campus area, experience the new South Campus Gateway restaurants and retail outlets, explore established university area businesses and restaurants, and enjoy a free outdoor movie on the Wexner Center plaza.
“We hope that this lively, informal event will entice people from all over the community to spend a summer evening in the area,” says Jerry Johnson, marketing director of South Campus Gateway. “The idea is to come for dinner, catch a movie, and check out what’s new in this revitalized district.” This event may become a regular event every few months.
Events, activities, and discounts include:
• A free outdoor screening of Monster on the Campus (1958), part of the Wexner Center’s B-Movie Hootenanny summer film series, at sundown (around 9 p.m.) outdoors on the Wexner Center plaza. Also on the plaza: a free outdoor party, hosted by the Wexner Center’s 12 1⁄4 Circle and including free food from Barley’s Brewing Company and a cash bar, starting at 8:30. The Wexner Center Store will be selling merchandise on the plaza, and the Store will be open until 8 p.m. The galleries (including the exhibition Extreme Textiles) will also be open until 8 p.m. (admission is free).
