The Wexner Center Foundation board of trustees announced the appointment of two new trustees at its May 2007 board meeting: Michael P. Glimcher and Robert H. Schottenstein.
Michael P. Glimcher has been a trustee of Glimcher Realty Trust since June 1997, was appointed president of the company in December 1999 and chief executive officer in January 2005. He had served as the director of leasing administration of The Glimcher Company from the time he joined the company in 1991. Glimcher is active in several charitable and community organizations, and is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. Glimcher’s parents founded the DeeDee and Herb Glimcher Program Fund, which supports an annual lecture at the Wexner Center by a distinguished speaker in the fields of architecture and design.
Robert H. Schottenstein is chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president of M/I Homes, Inc., the largest single-family homebuilder in Columbus and one of the largest homebuilders in the United States. For many years, Schottenstein has been active in a number of business and charitable organizations. He currently serves as a trustee of The Ohio State University, as a board member of the Columbus Jewish Federation (and served as board chair from 2002 to 2004), and as a board member of The Children’s Hospital Foundation. Schottenstein also serves on the Large Home Builders Council of the National Association of Home Builders and is a member of The Columbus Partnership. He will serve as a liaison between the Wexner Center board and The Ohio State University board. Schottenstein has an undergraduate degree from Indiana University and a law degree from Capital University.
“With their longstanding ties to this community and to the university, Glimcher and Schottenstein will offer keen and valuable perspective to the center’s future governance,” notes Wexner Center Foundation board chair Leslie H. Wexner. “We look forward to the involvement of this next generation of business leaders, and know that they will contribute a great deal to the center’s continuing evolution.”
