Wexner Center Goes to the Dogs for Dog Day @ The Wex

Dogs, families, and friends will gather on the Wexner Center’s plaza (located at 15th Avenue and High Street) on Sunday, October 7 for Dog Day @ the Wex, a free community day filled with dog-oriented activities, from a pooch parade to photography with dogs.

WHAT: Dog Day @ The Wex: 2007 Community Day will feature a pooch parade, dog photography, dog massages, paw painting, animal telepathic communication, a doggy playground, and more. Dog owners will have the opportunity to take a docent-led tour of the William Wegman: Funney/Strange exhibition in the Wexner Center galleries every hour on the hour while their pets are housed in a pet-sitting station manned by Pet Palace staff and OSU Vet School volunteers. A “Funney/Strange” gallery hunt will also be available for children. MC Sue Leighton (radio personality from WBNS 97.1 FM) will keep visitors entertained as pets and owners strut through the Pooch Parade from 2 to 3 pm. Guests will also be able to check out plenty of dog-friendly vendor tables as well as a booth for the Capital Area Humane Society. This event is held in conjunction with Ohio State’s College of Veterinary Medicine OSU Vet Med’s Vets4Pets 5k Walk/Run, the Franklin County Dog Shelter, and the Capital Area Humane Society.

WHEN: Sunday, October 7, 11 am - 4 pm.

WHERE: Outside the Wexner Center for the Arts, 1871 N. High St. at 15th Ave. on the campus of The Ohio State University.

PARKING: Ohio Union Garage just south of the Wexner Center (alternate parking is available at South Campus Gateway garage, a few blocks south of the Wexner Center between 9th and 11th avenues). The COTA #2 bus also stops right in front of the Wexner Center, on High Street at 15th.

ADMISSION: Free.
