Columbus, OH—Pioneering filmmakers the Quay Brothers will debut UN)MISTAKEN HANDS: EX VOTO F.H., their latest short film, at the Wexner Center on Saturday, November 2 at 7 pm. Stephen and Timothy Quay are recipients of a 2013–14 Wexner Center Residency Award in film/video; UN)MISTAKEN HANDS: EX VOTO F.H. will be completed in the center's Film/Video Studio during the month of October. The night of the premiere includes Ed Waisnis's Behind the Scenes with the Quay Brothers (2011, 31 mins.), which documents the making of Through the Weeping Glass (which screened at the Wex in 2012), along with a discussion with the brothers. As part of their residency, they will also introduce the Pre-Code cult classic Freaks on October 31.

UN)MISTAKEN HANDS: EX VOTO F.H. (formerly known under the working title Mistaken Hands) revolves around the work and life of Uruguayan writer Felisberto Hernández, considered by many to be the father of “magic realism” and with whose work the Quays share an affinity.

Wexner Center Director of Film/Video David Filipi notes, "We've shown the work of the Quay Brothers for years and to be able to assist them in the completion of their latest film is a great opportunity to continue our support and demonstrate enthusiasm for these groundbreaking filmmakers."

The Quay Brothers' residency activities also include a student-only conversation and screening of their short films on Thursday, October 31.
