Jacques's research involves the use of virtual reality environments for developing B-747 approach and landing displays. He has flown F-4 tactical fighters for 15 years and has more than 30 years of aviation operations, training, and administrative experience.

Ratti is responsible for the development and production of the worldÌs most advanced fighter aircraft engine. He has flown numerous airlift missions in support of our nation's senior military and civilian leadership, commanded the 412th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards AFB, CA, and has flight tested various developmental avionics systems.

Philip J. Smith Institute for Ergonomics
The Ohio State University

Codirector of the Institute for Ergonomics at Ohio State and professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and the Advanced Computing Center for Arts and Design, Smith is currently working with airline and FAA officials to develop the Reroute Advisory Tool, a software program that will increase airline safety. He is president of Cognitive Systems Engineering, Inc., and a recipient of the Airline Dispatchers FederationÌs National Aviation Safety Award for 2001
