Jessica Stockholder Artist's Talk

Hear from acclaimed artist Jessica Stockholder during this afternoon talk. Stockholder’s work has played a crucial role in expanding the dialogue between sculpture and painting, form and space.

Her recent solo museum exhibitions include Peer Out to See at the Palacio de Cristal of the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid and Hollow Places Courtin Ash-Tree Wood at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Connecticut, as well as previous solo shows at the Dia Center for the Arts and P.S. 1 (New York), The Renaissance Society (Chicago), the Power Plant (Toronto), and K20 Kunstsammlung, Nordrhein-Westfalen (Düsseldorf). She has sited major public installations, including Flooded Chambers Maid in Madison Square Park, New York; and Color Jam in Chicago’s Loop district. She was the focus of the career survey exhibition Jessica Stockholder, Kissing the Wall: Works, 1988-2003 at the Blaffer Art Gallery, University of Houston, Texas, and the Weatherspoon Art Gallery, University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and has been featured in important group exhibitions including SITE Santa Fe and the Whitney Biennial. Stockholder is the chair of the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Chicago. She is represented by Mitchell-Innes & Nash.
