Media historian Bruce Jenkins talks about artists Johan van der Keuken and Helio Oiticica and their unique forms of art making within the context of urban culture. Jenkins, who specializes in the interface between cinema and the visual arts, will explore the connections between these two bodies of work and the challenges faced by such peripatetic artists, who must reframe their aesthetic process for gallery display.

Bruce Jenkins is the Stanley Cavell Curator of the Harvard Film Archive and a senior lecturer on Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University. His writings have appeared in October, Millennium Film Journal, and a number of museum catalogues.
