New Zealandñborn Mark Burry is the director of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology's state-of-the-art Spatial Information Architecture Laboratory, established as a holistic interdisciplinary research environment dedicated to all aspects of contemporary design activity. Presented by Ohio State's Knowlton School of Architecture. Cosponsored by the Wexner Center. Burry currently divides his time between university- and practice-based research. In addition to his work with the Spatial Information Architecture Laboratory, he is also visiting professor at Liverpool University and MIT and honorary professor at Deakin University in Australia. He has published internationally on two main themes: the life and work of the architect Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona and putting theory into practice with regard to "challenging" architecture.
