APPLICATION DEADLINE: Mon, Feb 12 | 5 PM
CLASSES BEGIN: Sun, Mar 11
Free for youth ages 14–18
In the spirit of designer Todd Oldham, the Wex has invited local artist Emily Westenhouser to lead an intensive, six-week studio course in which participants will create individual fashion looks for a final photoshoot.
What would you dream up? If you’re 14–18 and want to learn more about machine and hand sewing, mending, embellishment, and transforming thrift-store finds into something fabulous, this is the FREE class series for you!
No prior sewing experience is required, but attention to detail and a passion for working hard to construct an outfit of your choice (and then model it) is a must. Also required is your completed application submitted by Feb 12. Selected applicants will be interviewed the following week. Questions? Please contact Jean Pitman at (614) 292-4614 or jpitman@wexarts.org.
Ready for a little inspiration? Check out All of Everything: Todd Oldham Fashion, an exhibition of the designer’s oh-so-awesome 1990s fashions on view at the Wex through April 15.
