Writer and editor Stephen Elliott will be here to read from the anthology Stumbling and Raging: More Politically Inspired Fiction along with four of the book's contributors: Courtney Brkic, Jeff Parker, Stefan Kiesbye, and Michelle Herman (an Ohio State associate professor). "The writers are brave because they are overt, taking the risk that by naming Ashcroft or Uday they will remove the breathing room that fiction needs."—Village Voice on Politically Inspired

Stumbling and Raging is the recently released "sequel" to the acclaimed 2003 anthology of political fiction Politically Inspired, also edited by Stephen Elliott. Elliott visited the Wexner Center right before the 2004 presidential election as part of Writers Get Out the Vote. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of Politically Inspired was given to Oxfam America to support its humanitarian work in Iraq, which includes the delivery of clean water and safe sanitation, as well as help for displaced children. Proceeds from Stumbling and Raging (Macadam/Cage Publishing) will go to progressive candidates in the 2006 midterm elections.

Presented by Ohio State's Creative Writing Program, Department of English. Cosponsored by the Wexner Center.
