This year's Off the Grid has a '90s theme—and an extra dose of fabulousness—thanks to All of Everything: Todd Oldham Fashion, the show now taking up most of the center's gallery space. We can't wait to see what you'll be wearing for the contemporary art party of the year, and we've got you covered if you could use a little more inspiration. Local boutiques Rowe and Kiln, two of the Style Sponsors for OTG 2018, loaned us their space and their fashion savvy, putting together a few smart looks that fold in ideas that are both key to Todd Oldham's fashion legacy and currently on trend.
As the exhibition illustrates, Oldham's a fan of prints of all variations. Our models are decked out in two that are big right now, floral and plaid, with hits of other popular patterns like camo and gingham and textures like satin. And the Spicoli-style Vans on Cole are never out of style.
Killer jackets are a common sight in All of Everything. Adopting a multi-layer look of your own for OTG isn't just stylish, it lets you tell a unique story through the pieces you combine. Plus, it's just a practical move for a nighttime event in early March that'll start with a chilly walk to the doors and end with sweating on the dance floor. We like the idea explored on Cole of placing a plaid button-up over a super-casual hoodie and under a sharp fitted blazer, and love the extra mileage the sleeveless sundress seen above on Lexie gets with the addition of a three-quarter sleeve, off-the-shoulder tee.
Oldham's love of and attention to detail is one of the reasons why All of Everything is so dazzling; he was so enamored with the intricate work by the artisans he employed for his designs that he couldn't part with them in sample sales, like most designers would, so he had a treasure trove of pieces in his archive. Follow his lead by enhancing your look with standout extras like a patterned pocket square, bold tuxedo stripes like those on Lexie's floral blazer, or a bag in a cool metallic or bright pop color.
