On January 21, Ohio State professors Nadine George-Graves (Departments of Dance and Theatre), Guisela LaTorre (Department of History of Art), and Shannon Winubst (Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies) joined choreographer and writer Miguel Gutierrez in the Wex's Film/Video Theater for individual presentations around a subject raised by Gutierrez in his November 2018 BOMB Magazine essay, "Does Abstraction Belong to White People?" (Gutierrez is also at the Wex this week for performances of his recent performance work This Bridge Called My Ass.) The presentations were followed by a panel discussion moderated by Joni Boyd Acuff of Ohio State’s Department of Arts Administration, Education and Policy. The complete program is shared below.
