It's official: Last Thursday's kickoff reception for Mickalene Thomas: I Can't See You Without Me was a blowout, with one of the biggest opening night crowds for a Wex exhibition in recent memory. It really got going with a standing-room-only artist talk between Mickalene and Beverly Guy-Sheftall, chair of Comparative Women’s Studies, Anna Julia Cooper Professor of Women’s Studies, and the founding director of the Women’s Research and Resource Center at Spelman College in Atlanta.
