A young Pakistani man earns a living selling coffee on the streets of New York as he tries to break into the music scene in 2005's Man Push Cart, the breakthrough feature by Iranian-American filmmaker Ramin Bahrani. On Thursday, March 5 at 7 PM, Bahrani will visit the Wex to introduce a screening the film and to talk about his work telling stories of resourceful individuals facing systemic challenges. Two more of his features, Chop Shop and Goodbye Solo, will screen March 24. Here's a preview of Man Push Cart.
