Rodney Evans is bringing Vision Portraits to Columbus to screen as part of Picture Lock: 30 Years of Film/Video Residencies at the Wex. In the new doc, Evans shares the experience of losing his sight due to a rare genetic condition and reaches out to other vision-impaired artists to explore how they've adapted. The film screens twice on Saturday, November 2, at noon and 7 PM; the early screening will be presented with open audio description for visually impaired audience members.

The film was completed with help from the Wexner Center's Film/Video Studio. When Evans was here working on the film last year, he sat down with Film/Video Studio curator Jennifer Lange and studio editor Alexis McCrimmon to discuss process. You can listen to that conversation here
