Picture Lock: 30 Years of Film/Video Residencies

For three decades the center’s Film/Video Studio has helped hundreds of artists and filmmakers in their pursuit of picture lock: the moment during the postproduction process when all creative options have been explored and the project’s edit is complete. Picture Lock celebrates this rich history in a concentrated weekend featuring recently completed films, projects from our archive, and in some cases works in progress, all presented by their directors. This year’s screenings emphasize the collaborative side of filmmaking—both behind the camera and onscreen.
