Acclaimed and bestselling writer David Shields enthralls international audiences with introspective, genre-bending essays, short stories, and novels. In this talk, he’ll read from his new book Nobody Hates Trump More Than Trump: An Intervention, which is at once a psychological investigation, a philosophical meditation on the relationship between language and power, a satirical compilation of wit and wisdom, and above all a dagger into the rhetoric of American political discourse—a dissection of the politesse that gave rise to and sustains Trump. Shields argues that we have met the enemy and he is us.
