Directed by the great filmmaker, photographer, and writer Chris Marker (La jetée, Sans soleil), A.K. is both an insightful “making of” documentary and a thoughtful meditation on the artistry of influential Japanese director Akira Kurosawa. The film was shot during the production of Kurosawa’s masterpiece Ran, which screens the following night. (72 mins., DCP).
