Cinema Revival: A Festival of Film Restoration

Four images, from left a black and white image of horse and carriage, a person in wheelchair in large room, seven people on a stage, and tow people in VR headsets looking at one another

Our seventh-annual weekend celebrating the art and practice of film restoration returns for its first virtual edition—and with some interesting twists. In addition to all events being presented online, we’re expanding the festival’s scope to include a program dedicated to the field of video game restoration. We’ll spotlight the Black Film Center/Archive at Indiana University, the work of The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project to restore a rare Iranian film, and a time-traveling program of rare films shot around Italy at the beginning of the last century.
