Join us for a lively conversation about the rediscovery of the lost Iranian drama Chess of the Wind (1976), its restoration, and the film’s place in world cinema history. This stunning masterpiece is bound to make us rethink Iranian cinema of the 1970s as well the era’s cinema in general.

For this free prerecorded conversation we’re honored to be joined by a panel of distinguished guests: poet and filmmaker Mohammad Reza Aslani, the film’s director; Margaret Bodde, executive director of The Film Foundation; Cecilia Cenciarelli, head of research & special projects, Cineteca di Bologna; and Gita Aslani Shahrestani, teacher and researcher, University of Paris Nanterre, and Reza Aslani’s daughter.
