Things begin to unravel for Bernie Casey when betrayal strikes fellow members of the Black militant group The Organization.
The prolific Bernie Casey (graduate of Columbus East High School) stars in the seldom-screened independent film Black Chariot. Casey plays an idealistic militant (“The Drifter”) who joins a group of activists modeling themselves after the Black Panthers. When the betrayal of one of the group’s members is discovered, the others seek revenge. Writer/director/producer Robert Goodwin weaves past and present together to tell the story of the Drifter’s political awakening. Ohio native Barbara O. Jones costars in her first film role. (90 mins., 35mm)
