Luc Besson’s trippy cult classic The Fifth Element stars Bruce Willis as Dallas, a 23rd-century cabbie who has the key to saving the world plop into his taxi in the form of Milla Jovovich. Together, they must wrangle all five elements necessary to stave off the fast-approaching space evil heading the planet’s way. With acclaimed production design by French comics legends Jean Giraud (aka Moebius) and Jean-Claude Mézières, costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier, and over-the-top performances by Gary Oldman and Chris Tucker, it’s either one of the best—or worst—sci-fi films ever made (depending on who you ask!).
