Found Footage Festival: Where Are They Now?

Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher in person

Reception | 6:30 PM

A bearded man holds three VHS tapes in each hand and next to him is a man in ball cap holding a VCR, below them are three televisions

Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher return with their greatest VHS finds as well as where-are-they-now updates on the people featured in these found video gems.

Pickett (The Onion) and Prueher (Late Show with David Letterman) will deliver their trademark live commentary on these videotaped obscurities curated from their massive collection. This year’s lineup includes such wonders as:

  • The First Annual Martin Carlton Stunt Special from 1988 and the debut of The Second Annual Martin Carlton Stunt Special Annual, created 34 years later.
  • A retrospective of the Magical Rainbow Sponge crafting videos and a tribute to its star, Dee Gruenig.
  • Highlights from the Chicago cable access dance show Chic-A-Go-Go including the time Pickett and Prueher sneaked their way on camera.
  • A training video for McDonald’s janitors, and Pickett and Prueher’s quest to find its star, “Mr. McC.”

Arrive early to welcome Pickett and Prueher at a reception with a cash bar in our lower lobby starting at 6:30 PM. (program approx. 90 mins., digital video)
