Now a cult classic, John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars finds Pam Grier leading a group of Martian cops against an undead army.
Set 200 years in the future on the partially colonized red planet, John Carpenter’s sci-fi/horror/western Ghosts of Mars follows a group of Martian cops led by Pam Grier’s Commander Braddock. The team is dispatched to a frontier mining outpost to collect apprehended murderer Desolation Williams (Ice Cube). Their mission takes a turn for the worse when they find the town filled with the corpses of the miners and a zombie welcoming committee possessed by an evil force that does not want them there. Featuring a score by Carpenter and Anthrax. Also starring Natasha Henstridge, Clea Duvall, Jason Statham, and Joanna Cassidy. (97 mins., 35mm)
