The long-awaited first feature film from Columbus-born filmmaker Jennifer Reeder traces the impact of a missing teenage girl on a small midwestern town. Her high school is overtaken with a fear and mistrust that spreads out into the town in the form of unexpected and desperate coping strategies. Mixing the tones of a David Lynch thriller with those of a feminist high school musical, Knives and Skin is already on its way to being a future cult classic, with sensational receptions at film festivals from Berlin to Tribeca. (111 mins., DCP)
Welcome the director and meet fellow cinema fans at a reception hosted by Ohio State’s Film Studies Program at 6 PM on September 13 in the center's lower lobby.
