Join us for a lively and eclectic program of shorts that spans magical films by Georges Méliès (as seen in the contemporary classic Hugo), educational science films, abstract animations, and silent comedy curiosities. Perfect for short attention spans, every film will be totally different from the one before! And did we mention there will be live music?!? Columbus Alive’s 2018 Musician of the Year Joe Camerlengo and his band Classical Baby will provide a similarly eclectic soundtrack, making this one of the most unique movie experiences you’ll have all year! (approx. 60 mins., 35mm, 16mm, and digital) Recommended for ages 8 and up.
Program lineup Excelsior, Prince of Magicians (Georges Méliès, 1901, 2 mins.) Cartoon Factory (Max Fleischer, 1924, 6 mins.) Daphnia (Jean Painleve, 1928, 10 mins.) The Garden of Earthly Delights (Stan Brakhage, 1981, 2 mins.) A Trip to the Moon (Georges Méliès, 1902, 16 mins.; 2011 color restoration) Now You Tell One (Charlie Bowers, 1926, 22 mins.) Let Your Light Shine (Jodie Mack, 2013, 3 mins.)
