Trailer: Escape from New York

The Wex is heading back to South Drive-In July 15 for the next film in our summer outdoor series: a 40th anniversary presentation of John Carpenter's Escape from New York. If you're already a fan, this is a great one to experience again at the drive-in, and if you're new to Carpenter's 1981 cult classic, you're in for a real treat. You can get a glimpse of what to expect via the original theatrical trailer embedded above. The feature will be preceded by Black Panther Fable, a short by Ohio filmmaker Kieran Murphy; his fun mini-movie John Wick screened as part of the Youth Division of the 2020 Ohio Shorts program.
