• This week brings two new writings from local author Prince Shakur: the memoir When They Tell You to Be Good and an essay in It Came From the Closet, a book on horror and queerness. And Tuesday, Shakur will discuss his work with Hanif Abdurraqib at Two Dollar Radio.
• Filmmaker Jake Housh released a short doc on late Columbus rock stars Jenny Mae and Jerry Wick.
• Akron-based choreographer Dominic Moore-Dunson spoke about how dance can illuminate the effects of police violence.
• We’re excited to join in for another Cartoon Crossroads Columbus. The festival of comic arts takes place Thursday through Sunday and includes guests like animator Laura Harrison, who’ll join us Thursday for a screening of her latest work and other shorts, and Keith Knight, who’ll give a talk in the Film/Video Theater Friday.
• Also Thursday, King Arts Complex hosts the awards ceremony Legends & Legacies. Among the honorees is Ohio State Executive Vice President and Provost Melissa Gilliam.
• Another Thursday night option: As part of the CCAD exhibition 1000 Miles per Hour, Wex friend Roger Beebe will present his multi-projector performance Films for One to Eight Projectors.
• Next weekend, 934 Gallery opens a show of work by Chaz O’Neil Friday.
• Saturday, Greenlawn Cemetery hosts the family-friendly Day of the Dead Columbus, with art, makers, dance, and poetry among the offerings.
• Also Saturday, Open Door Columbus has an opening reception for the pop culture show FANART.

• For spooky season, Sight and Sound pulled a behind-the-scenes feature on Werner Herzog’s Nosferatu: The Vampire out of the archives.
