Starring Asia Argento, the conclusion of Dario Argento’s Three Mothers trilogy is perhaps the horror maestro’s goriest film.

In the grisly Mother of Tears, Sarah Mandy (played by Dario’s daughter Asia Argento) is an American art restorer training in Rome. An urn arrives at the museum where she works containing artifacts belonging to Mater Lachrymarum, the last of a trio of black magic witches called the Three Mothers. When the opened urn causes a wave of horrific violence and chaos to engulf the city, Sarah must defeat the ancient witch and her demonic hordes. In English, Italian, Japanese, and Hungarian with English subtitles. (102 mins., 4K DCP)
