A mystery writer gets involved in the search for a serial killer inspired by his books in this film many consider Argento’s response to his critics.

Peter Neal (Anthony Franciosa) is an American mystery writer visiting Rome to promote his latest book, titled Tenebrae. When a woman is murdered, Neal begins to receive letters saying his books have inspired the killing spree, and he quickly becomes embroiled in the search for the villain. Starring John Saxon and Daria Nicolodi, the film features a synth-focused score by Italian prog band Goblin. In English, Italian, and Spanish with English subtitles. (101 mins., 4K DCP)
