A Summer Abroad: International Film Classics

Summertime is movie time, and we hope you find this year’s edition of our annual summer film series a refreshing and compelling alternative to cineplex fare. This 14-film world tour takes you from Spain to South Korea, Jamaica to Japan, and beyond. The tour guides are some of the most revered directors in film history, including the likes of Chantal Akerman, Pedro Almodóvar, Bong Joon Ho, Akira Kurosawa, Satyajit Ray, Luis Buñuel, and more.

Many of this summer’s films are being screened in new restorations. Whether you are revisiting or experiencing them for the first time, we encourage you to check out these classics on the big screen with your fellow film lovers!

Join us at Antiques on High on Thursday, June 25 from 5:30–7:30 PM to kick off the series with an evening of film, conversation, and community. Hear directly from the Wex Film team about what’s ahead this season, get a first look at select trailers, and connect with Wex members and fellow film enthusiasts over drinks. Series passes will be available for purchase, making this the perfect opportunity to plan your summer at the Wex.
