Unorthodocs 2024

Celebrate the possibilities of creative nonfiction filmmaking with our annual Unorthodocs festival!

Back for its eighth year, the Wexner Center’s annual documentary film festival features an exciting roster of international filmmakers, from  award-winning directors Steven Bognar, Brett Story, and Mati Diop to emerging talent Nesa Azimi and Rachel Elizabeth Seed. This year’s Unorthodocs highlights adventurous films that tell stories of collective action, video game communities, and fights against oppression. While streaming has made documentaries more widely available, it has also made many more corporate and formulaic. Unorthodocs invites you to experience narratives that unfold as they are being discovered, making for a daring, alive, and singular experience.

Come explore the boundaries of documentary filmmaking and meet the artists behind today’s most exciting projects. Enjoy all the talks and screenings with a festival pass, plus exclusive access to the passholder lounge.

The Wexner Center is Ohio State’s multidisciplinary center for contemporary art and culture, presenting exhibitions, films, performances, talks, and workshops year-round. Learn more about the Wex.
