Cinema Revival: A Festival of Film Restoration

A collage of six stills from films in this festival.
Rethink what you know about cinema history at the 12th annual Cinema Revival.

Our annual weekend celebrating the art and practice of film restoration is back! In addition to the pleasure of seeing a new restoration of a favorite classic on the big screen, we’re also celebrating the world’s archivists and restoration experts working to revive historically overlooked films and filmmakers. This year we welcome experts Ei Toshinari of Small Sensations!, Robert Furmanek of the 3-D Film Archive, Dennis Doros and Amy Heller of Milestone Films, Grover Crisp of Sony Pictures, Tim Lanza and Sarah Hartzell of Ohio State Libraries, and David Stenn, television writer and producer and film preservation supporter.

Join us at this year’s festival for new restorations of feature films from Mamoru Oshii, Steven Spielberg, Otto Preminger, Flora Gomes, Erich von Stroheim, and more! Purchase a festival pass to take in the full roster of films. Passholders also get access to an exclusive passholder lounge with complimentary snacks and beverages on Saturday and Sunday.
