Fall 2025 Exhibitions and Related Events

Collage of artworks by Mimi Ọnụọha, Eric N. Mack, Nanette Carter, and Veronica Ryan.
Explore current approaches to abstract art through exhibitions and related programs at the Wex.

Nanette Carter, Eric N. Mack, Mimi Ọnụọha, and Veronica Ryan all carefully select materials for their respective abstract sculptures, installations, and two-dimensional works. They use these often-unconventional materials to convey themes of personal identity, migration, history, the Black experience, political upheaval, fashion, architecture, and more. Visitors are invited to think about what these materials symbolize or communicate, form their own associations, and consider the cultural connections and significance of objects in their everyday lives.

Return to the Wex throughout the fall to explore these themes in depth with talks, film screenings, and performances.
